Overview 

This role as the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at the AUSA Facility involves programming and coaching anyone from elite athletes, to rehabilitation and youth performance athletes.

Perfect role for someone who wants to regularly work with athletes at all levels and work within a multidisciplinary team.

This role allows for a career progression opportunity in a rapidly expanding company with the opportunity to start as soon as possible.

Details

  • Hours will be flexible and negotiable depending on availability

  • Ideally would 15-20 hours per week on a casual or part-time basis, with the ability to quickly become full-time

  • Work hours are typically 4-8pm on Weekdays and 8-12 on Saturdays

  • To work at either our Chatswood or Alexandria Facility

  • Start as soon as possible

  • You will receive Continued Professional Development as part of your employment within the Performance team

  • Remuneration dependent on experience and employment basis (FT/PT/Casual)

Responsibilities

Performance

  • Conduct Performance Analyses and Performance Testing for AUSA Members

  • Exercise prescription and modifications for Performance Athletes

  • Coaching group sessions (4-8 athletes) in Rehab and Performance

  • Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, predominantly with the Lead S&C Coach and Physio Assistants

Administration/Organisation

  • Ensuring all athletes are programmed ahead of the session

  • Scheduling of the week’s sessions for each athlete

  • Tidying and general cleanliness of the gym

  • Assisting with the programming of performance athletes

  • Assisting with in-person inquiries

  • Communicate efficiently with colleagues and management

JOB Requirements

  • Studied an Undergraduate Degree in Exercise or Sports Science

  • Experience in strength and conditioning coaching

  • Sound knowledge of training principles for performance and injury prevention

  • Experience in the health and fitness industry

  • Reliable, passionate & trustworthy

  • Be able to solve problems independently and hold yourself accountable

  • Be relationship-focused, able to build relationships with members and parents

  • Knowledge/interest in basketball and professional sports

  • Sales background desirable but not essential

  • High level of communication skills

DESIRABLE

  • Working towards Masters or ASCA Level 2 Desirable

  • Availability to work evenings and some weekends

  • Experience with Basketball either through playing or work experience
